Community Information


Location: Graceville is located in Big Stone County in West Central Minnesota at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and State Highway 28.

Population 2000 Census: 605

Schools
Graceville is home to C-G-B Middle/High School that includes grades 7 through 12. High School sports are part of the Pheasant Conference. Student have various extra curricular activities such as band, choir, knowledge bowl, one act play, school musical, FCCLA, and Danceline. The elementary grades K-6 are taught at CGB Elementary in Clinton, a seven-minute drive to the south.

Employment Opportunities/Businesses
Graceville has several employment opportunities within the community. The biggest employers are the Graceville Health Center and the CGB School District. Graceville also has an Implement Dealer, Convenience Store/Cafe, Sporting Goods Store, Pharmacy, Flower Shop, 3 Car Dealerships, Body Shop, 2 Salons, cabinet Shop, 3 downtown eating establishments, bowing alley and a grocery store.

Healthcare
Since 1945 the Graceville Health Center has been owned and operated by the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Norfolk, NB. The Graceville Health Center is comprised of a Clinic, 15 bed hospital and a 55 bed nursing home and a 16 unit assisted living facility.

Community Center
Graceville has a new community building that houses the city offices, fire department, ambulance service and a Public Library.

Lakes
The county park located in Graceville is at the south edge of Toqua lake, just west of Highway 75. It features ball diamonds, modern shower and restroom facilities, picnic grounds, camping areas, swimming areas with a sand beach, and a public boat access. This park is the site of a major statewide softball tournament each summer. Water skiers find Toqua Lake a delight as it's tree-lined, compact size makes it less susceptible to strong winds.

Golf
Graceville Golf Course is a picturesque 9 hole course situated on the south side of Lake Toqua. The course has many mature trees and a creek running through it.

Hunting
Big Stone County has excellent deer, duck, pheasant, and goose hunting. The Graceville Gun Club is located on the north side of Lake Toqua.

Annual Celebrations
Graceville celebrates it's Irish Heritage each year by hosting an annual St. Patrick's Day parade. Every summer, Graceville celebrates Toqua Days. This community celebration includes several events and a live band sponsored by the Graceville Firemen.
