Schools
The school is K-12 and provides an advanced curriculum in a recently built facility and is the major employer. Close by are 2 Technical Colleges, one located in nearby Wadena and the other in Staples, that provide the needed training and support for local industry. The Bertha-Hewitt Marching Band is well known for its disciplined and precision marching and has won numerous 1st place awards. They have traveled to many Parades in the lower 48 states plus Alaska.

Employment Opportunity/Businesses
Diamond Tool & Engineering Inc. provides molds to various vendors and employs high tech machining individuals to produce the molds. Northern Food and Dairy Inc. which processes various foods through its drying plant, also provides employment opportunities.

Recreation
Todd Trails Association provides four miles of groomed snowmobile trails through the county. Deer hunting is excellent with many acres of land replanted to trees by the paper companies. Golf courses are within 20 minutes driving time in most any direction as are the lakes.

Organizations
The community has several non-profit clubs that provide additional support to the community, such as Lions, Commercial Club, Dollars For Scholars, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Sports Boosters, Legion and Legion Auxiliary. The Fire Department and Ambulance crews are served by volunteer members and devote countless hours to the safety and protection of the community.

Medical
The town and surrounding community is served and staffed by a complete medical profession at the local clinic which is affiliated with Tri County Hospital of Wadena.

Annual Celebration
The second weekend in July of each year the community celebrates Dairyland Days and every 5th year it is joined by an all school reunion.
